When the investigation progressed, even a well-known advocate of Dehradun was arrested in it. After this, on July 25, a three-member SIT was formed under the Stamp and Registration Department.

More than 150 complaints arrived one after the other. On March 16, the tenure of the SIT was extended till September 30. Now again the Governor has given approval to extend its tenure till February 28, 2025. Finance Secretary Dilip Javalkar has issued an order in this regard.
