In the case of the death of businessman Mohit Pandey (32) in police custody, the family members again protested by placing the body near the minister’s residence in Vibhutikhand on Sunday afternoon. The angry family and people raised slogans against the police and demanded strict action against the culprits. During this, there was also a heated argument between the police and the family members. After the assurance given by BKT MLA Yogesh Shukla, the people calmed down and left.
At around 12:30 pm, the family reached the minister’s residence with Mohit’s body and started protesting by placing the body on the road. The family started demanding the arrest of the murderers, compensation of one crore and a government job for Mohit’s wife Sushma. On receiving the information, the force of many police stations including ADCP East reached the spot. When the police tried to convince the family, they had a heated argument with the family members.
Meanwhile, two youths got furious and started raising slogans. When they were stopped, they got into a scuffle with the police. After this, both were taken into custody. During the protest, SP leader Pooja Shukla reached to meet the family members. She accused the police of murder. The police also took him into custody and sent him to Vibhutikhand police station.
During the protest, BJP MLA from BKT Yogesh Shukla also reached there. He assured the family of appropriate action. After this, the police removed the protesting people and sent the body home. BJP MLA Yogesh again reached Mohit’s house and gave financial help of one lakh rupees. In the evening, the last rites were performed at Bhaisa Kund in the presence of police.
The cause of death is not clear in the postmortem report, some injury marks were found
DCP East Shashank Singh said that the postmortem was conducted on Sunday by a panel of doctors. Videography and photography were also done. The cause of death could not be ascertained in the postmortem report. The doctors have kept the heart and viscera safe. Some injury marks have been found on the body which are from the fight that took place before coming to the police station. He said that a murder case was registered in this case late at night. The investigation of the case has been given to Inspector Gomtinagar Extension Sudhir Awasthi. On Sunday, he reached Chinhat police station and started the investigation.

On Friday, businessman Mohit Pandey, a resident of Naya Basti Jainabad in Chinhat, had a dispute with Adesh, a resident of Gonda, who looks after the supply business. On Saturday afternoon, Mohit’s health deteriorated in the lockup and he died as soon as he reached the hospital. In this case, his mother Tapeshwari had registered a murder case against Adesh, his uncle, Inspector Chinhat Ashwani Chaturvedi and unknown policemen.

- Second video: This video of 1 minute 16 seconds is of the lockup at 3 o’clock on Friday night. In the video, three youths are already seen lying in the lockup. Meanwhile, the accused Adesh enters the lockup first. He walks around for some time. After some time, Mohit’s brother Shobharam Pandey comes in and Mohit comes in behind him. Mohit had a bottle of water in his hand and he also drank water from the bottle. A young man also enters the lockup behind him and then that young man goes out.
- Third video: 38 seconds This video is of Saturday afternoon at 1:23. In this, eight people are seen in the lockup. A young man was walking around, while businessman Mohit was seen lying on one side. Everything looked normal in this video.
- Fourth video: This video of 1 minute 24 seconds is of Saturday afternoon at 1:36. In this, businessman Mohit is seen lying on his side. Suddenly he starts writhing in pain. The young man sitting nearby caresses his back. The young man caressing his back is probably said to be his brother Shobharam. Meanwhile, a young man seeing Mohit’s condition reached the lockup door and asked for help. Meanwhile, a young man throws a water bottle towards Shobharam. Inspector Chinhat suspended in case of death in custody
In the case of death of businessman Mohit Pandey in custody of Chinhat police, Police Commissioner Amarendra Singh Sengar has suspended Inspector Chinhat Ashwani Kumar Chaturvedi. In his place, Inspector Bharat Kumar Pathak posted in Ghazipur police station has been made the new SHO of Chinhat. Presently, the role of other policemen posted in Chinhat police station is being investigated in this case. Soon action will be taken against more police.
