Chamoli police has solved the mystery of jewellery theft in Gopeshwar. Addiction to online gaming and trading made three children thieves. On losing money, the minors planned to steal in their own house.

According to the information received from the police, on October 31, a woman resident of Gopeshwar had given a complaint regarding the matter. In which she had told that on October 30, she had come to Dehradun to meet her daughter. During this time, her tenant informed her on the phone that the lock of the door of her house was broken.
The woman reached Gopeshwar from Dehradun in a hurry. The woman found that the lock of the main door of the house was broken and the lock of the store locker in her mother-in-law’s room was broken and the jewellery was stolen. Which is worth about 35-40 lakh rupees. On the basis of the complaint, the police started investigating the case.
The son had committed the crime
The police thoroughly investigated the CCTV cameras. In which a suspicious vehicle was seen at the time of the incident. On November 2, the police took two minors involved in the theft incident under their protection along with the vehicle number-UK11B5911. During interrogation, the police came to know that the minor son of the victim had committed the crime.
The teenager told during interrogation that he has been fond of online gaming, trading and expensive expenditure for a long time. For which he had borrowed money from many people. He had also borrowed 50 thousand rupees from a minor involved in the theft incident. Everyone was asking the teenager to return the money. To get rid of the debt, the minor planned to commit theft in his own house.
Involved friends in the crime by luring them with money
The accused told that he involved his two minor friends in the crime by luring them that his mother and grandmother have jewelry worth lakhs at his house. They can earn a lot of profit by stealing and selling them at a high price. As soon as the mother was at her sister’s house, the teenager took advantage of the opportunity and called his friends and committed the crime.
