The doors of Yamunotri Dham were closed for winter, the palanquin of mother Yamuna left for Kharsali, this time more than 7 lakh devotees visited
The doors of Yamunotri Dham, the first major pilgrimage of Chardham, have been closed for the winter season at 12:05 pm as per the pre-determined time after special worship. Now, during the six months of winter, the darshan and worship of Maa Yamuna will be done at the winter residence Kharsali village.
Earlier at 8 am, Maa Yamuna’s brother Shanidev Sameshwar Maharaj had reached Yamunotri Dham to take his sister. After that, the doors of Maa Yamuna’s temple were closed in the presence of hundreds of devotees and local Dev Dolis. The villagers gave a grand welcome to Maa Yamuna’s Doli with flower garlands, incense, lamps and offerings.
On this occasion, Purohit Mahasabha President Purushottam Uniyal, Yamunotri MLA Sanjay Dobhal, Suresh Uniyal of Purohit community, Manmohan Uniyal, Pyare Lal Uniyal, Bhageshwar Uniyal, Subhash Uniyal, Gaurav Uniyal, Ashish Uniyal, Kamal Singh Bisht, Mahavir Panwar, Anand Singh Rana, Jaspal Parmar, CO Surendra Singh Bhandari, SO Deepak Kathait, Vikram Singh, SDM Brijesh Tiwari and hundreds of devotees were present.
Number of devotees in Yamunotri Dham is less than last year
711754 devotees have reached Yamunotri Dham till Saturday evening. Whereas last year this number was 735245. The doors of Gangotri Dham, the main among the four Dhams, were closed on Saturday on Annakoot festival at 12:14 pm in Abhijeet Muhurta amid Vedic chanting. On this occasion, hundreds of devotees from across the country and abroad had the Nirvana Darshan of the Utsav Doli of Mother Ganga.
