The notification for the civic elections in Uttarakhand has not been issued yet, but a long list of candidates contesting the civic elections from Congress has started coming out.

A meeting was organized at the Congress Swaraj Ashram under the leadership of Nainital district Congress observer and senior Congress leader Govind Singh Kunjwal and Haldwani MLA Sumit Hridayesh. Meanwhile, the candidates for the post of mayor from the Congress of Haldwani Municipal Corporation area presented their claims and submitted their biodata.

During this, the Congress people alleged that after getting the ticket, the Congress people themselves work to defeat the Congress candidate. During this, Govind Singh Kunjwal and MLA Sumit Hridayesh said that it is everyone’s right to make a claim. The party will give ticket to the ground worker. Also, the candidate with honest and clean image will be given the ticket.

MLA Sumit Hridayesh said that 28 people from Congress have presented their claim for the post of Haldwani Municipal Corporation Mayor, all those candidates will be scrutinized and their names will be sent to the state Congress and national leadership. The party high command will select who will be given the ticket. He said that whichever candidate the Congress party gives ticket to, the Congress workers will work with body, mind and money to ensure the victory of that candidate.

Sumit Hridayesh said that there is an anti-government wave in Uttarakhand at the moment. People have lost their faith in the BJP and have expectations from the Congress. In such a situation, the Congress party is going to fight strongly in the civic elections and certainly the Congress candidates will win on all the seats.
