Uttarakhand: Ghats lit up with lamps in Haridwar ‘Ganga Deepotsav’, more than 3 lakh lamps were lit on 52 ghats, CM Dhami worshiped Ganga

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Ganga Deep Mahotsav program organized at Har Ki Pauri, Haridwar on Monday and prayed for the happiness, prosperity and progress of the state by worshiping Maa Ganga and Ganga Aarti. During this, the police post located at Har Ki Pauri was also inaugurated by the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister also observed the drone show organized on the state’s tradition, spirituality and naturalness, Sanatan culture, Badrinath Dham, Kedarnath Dham, Kumbh Kalash, Lord Shiva, Maa Ganga at Har Ki Pauri.
The Chief Minister lit lamps in memory of the casualties in the Almora bus accident and on the anniversary of the State Foundation Day. In the presence of the Chief Minister, lakhs of lamps were lit at 50 ghats of Haridwar.
The Chief Minister said that today is the day to take a pledge by paying obeisance to Mother Ganga. The state is celebrating the Silver Jubilee year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had described the third decade of the 21st century as the decade of Uttarakhand. To make that decade, every Uttarakhandi will come forward and contribute to it. The state government is dedicating every moment to the development of the state to take the state forward.
Participating in the Bhajan Sandhya, the Chief Minister said that this new beginning is taking place in the Haridwar region. Paying tribute to the state agitators, he said that on the occasion of the state’s establishment and silver jubilee, 3 lakh 51 thousand lamps were lit on the banks of Maa Ganga. He said that every lamp will remove darkness and bring the light of progress. In the last 24 years, the state has progressed with the unwavering love and blessings of the people. Uttarakhand state is continuously progressing in health, tourism, education and every field. Today Uttarakhand has made a place among the top states of the country in many fields.
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described the historic decisions taken by the Uttarakhand government for the development of the state as an ideal example for the country. He said that from the banks of Maa Ganga, I assure the Prime Minister to take forward the development in accordance with his dreams. He said that Uttarakhand has come first in the list of Sustainable Development Goals released by Niti Aayog. The state has also moved ahead in providing employment to the youth. He said that the state government has created a new history by passing the UCC Bill.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has implemented the country’s strictest anti-cheating law to prevent scams in recruitments and in the last 3 years, a record 18,500 youths have got government jobs. With the implementation of the conversion law, the sanctity of Devbhoomi and Sanskrit will be protected. Anti-riot law has also been implemented in the state, under which every penny will be recovered from the rioter.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is also continuously developing the Haridwar area. The work of Rishikesh Haridwar Corridor is being carried forward. The number of devotees is increasing on various festivals. This year more than 4 crore Kanwariyas came to Haridwar. Keeping in mind the increasing numbers, the state government is working on the roadmap for the coming 40 to 50 years. So that the overall development of Haridwar can be done with a permanent solution.
The Chief Minister said that Maa Ganga is the basis of our life. It is an important part of Sanatan culture. We have to pay special attention to the cleanliness of Ganga. In the efforts of cleanliness, the participation of the general public along with the government is also necessary. He said that the people of Haridwar are giving their full support in the cleanliness of Maa Ganga. The Chief Minister said that it is very important to maintain the religious nature of Haridwar. He said that wherever encroachment is taking place in the vicinity, the responsibility of removing it lies with the Haridwar Development Authority. He said that there should not be any kind of encroachment in this holy land.
