Uttarakhand: Rudraprayag was divided into 27 sectors and two zones for Kedarnath by-election, ADG gave instructions to police officers

For the Kedarnath by-election, the district has been divided into 27 sectors and two zones. Eight FSTs and 10 SSTs have been formed there for security and checking. This information was given by nodal officer ADG AP Anshuman in a video conferencing with Rudraprayag police on Monday. He also instructed the district police to conduct intensive checking in border areas and establish coordination with neighboring districts.
In the video conferencing, Rudraprayag police informed that 210 liters of illegal liquor has been recovered so far. Apart from this, cases are being registered under BNS sections to take action against anti-social elements. Also, 95 percent of licensed weapons have been deposited so far.
ADG said that 162 polling centers and 173 polling stations have been set up in the assembly constituency. He instructed to plan security accordingly. Along with this, deployment of police force and paramilitary forces and mutual coordination were also asked to be done on time.
These instructions were given
- In view of the elections, patrolling and checking should be done continuously in the entire constituency. Along with this, mutual coordination should be maintained with the neighboring districts while keeping a vigilant eye on the border area.
- Crime and law and order should be kept under control during the elections. Legal action should be taken as soon as possible in case of any incident.
- Vigilant eye should be kept on various platforms of social media by alerting the intelligence. Action should be taken against those who disrupt law and order through rumors.
- Security of candidates should be ensured as per rules.
- All police forces appointed for election duty should be well briefed and appointed.
- Security of strong room should be ensured as per the guidelines of Election Commission of India under the supervision of a gazetted officer.
- Strong room, barrier etc. important places should be monitored with CCTV cameras.
- Being a hilly district, SDRF personnel should be instructed to prepare in advance at the polling centers built in disaster prone areas.
