Uttarakhand / Dehradun: After the incident, the district administration raided beer bars and pubs at night, liquor was being served even after 11 pm
After the death of six students in a horrific road accident on Monday night, on the instructions of the District Magistrate, five different teams of the district administration conducted a raid campaign on beer bars and pubs in the city late at night. Taking action during the campaign, the District Magistrate has directed to take sealing action with heavy fines against beer bars and pubs operating after 11 pm.

After the death of six youths in a car accident at ONGC Chowk late on Monday night, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took seriously the complaints of serving liquor in beer bars and pubs operating in the city even after the stipulated time period. He had instructed the district administration to take action. After which the District Magistrate called a meeting of officials at 11 pm on Tuesday night. Immediately five teams were formed and a raid campaign was conducted simultaneously in the city.

SDM Sadar closed a bar open till 12 pm in Kishan Nagar. The District Magistrate and ADM had also received complaints of one bar each on Rajpur Road and Chakrata Road being open even after the stipulated time. After which the team closed the bars running even after the stipulated time. In a restaurant, instructions have been given to register an FIR against the manager for serving liquor to more than 20 people even after 11 pm. Also, after finding the same in Royal Pub, it has been asked to register a case against the operator. The action continued throughout the city till around 1.30 am midnight. The District Magistrate himself was doing a recce in a vehicle without a name plate.
Action will be taken against bars and pubs opening till late night
District Magistrate Savin Bansal has told that all SDMs have been instructed that if any bar, pub in the city is found to be operating after 11:00 pm, then penalty should be imposed against the concerned bar and pub. Also, action for cancellation of license should be implemented legally. On Tuesday night, raids were conducted at different places in Dehradun city simultaneously. Now sealing action will be taken with heavy penalty.
A major accident took place in Dehradun on Monday night
A truck and an Innova car collided near ONGC in the Thana Cantt area of Dehradun. 6 students travelling in the car died in this accident. 1 student is undergoing treatment in the hospital in critical condition. 3 students and 3 girl students died tragically in this accident.
