Uttarakhand / Dehradun: The miscreant was roaming around with an illegal Khukri in search of theft, the police arrested him

Dehradun Police has arrested a cunning burglar. The accused was roaming around with an illegal Khukri in the late night in search of theft. There are many cases registered against the accused in the past as well. The miscreant has been jailed earlier in the case of burglary.

Seeing the suspicious person roaming around, the police stopped him for search

The SSP has instructed all the station in-charges to keep an eye on the accused involved in criminal activities in their areas in the past. After which the police is continuously conducting checking campaigns in all the police station areas. Last night, while patrolling in Hathibarkala, Cheeta Police saw a suspicious person roaming in the dark about 250 meters from Baba’s hut towards Naya village.

The miscreant was roaming around with an illegal Khukri in search of theft

When the police stopped the suspect and searched him, an illegal Khukri was recovered from the miscreant. On strict interrogation, the accused told his name as Akash Bhatt alias Anda son of Ramesh Bhatt, resident of Hathibarkala. The accused confessed that he was roaming around late at night in search of committing a theft. The police recovered an illegal weapon from the accused and arrested him.

The accused is a drug addict

The police informed that the accused Akash is a drug addict. He has already been jailed in Dalanwala police station in a case of robbery. Several cases of other criminal incidents have been registered against the accused in the past. The police have registered a case against the accused under the Arms Act.
