Uttarakhand: After the Deputy Leader of Opposition, the Congress State President accused the BJP of misusing government machinery in Kedarnath, wrote a letter to the CEO

By-election is on 20 November on Kedarnath assembly seat. Before the by-election to be held on Kedarnath assembly seat, Congress party has accused BJP of misusing government machinery. Congress has complained to the Election Commission and demanded action.

Congress wrote a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer

Congress state president Karan Mahara wrote a complaint letter to the Chief Electoral Officer saying that in the Kedarnath assembly seat by-election campaign, the Chief Minister is misusing the government machinery by pressurizing the officials during his election tour. Also, Anganwadi and Asha workers of the assembly constituency are being threatened. Mahara has described it as contrary to democratic values.

Accused BJP of misusing government machinery

Congress state president Karan Mahara said that on the one hand, on the orders of the state government, vehicles of local people are being thoroughly searched. On the other hand, no government official in the assembly constituency is searching the vehicles of BJP leaders and vehicles of Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi registration. These vehicles have BJP election posters. BJP workers and leaders from outside are using liquor and money to influence voters.

Demand for ban on vehicles from outside states in Kedarnath assembly constituency

Congress alleged that the government machinery and police administration engaged in the elections are not taking any action against the vehicles of these people under pressure from the government. They have demanded from the Election Commission that this should be investigated to conduct fair and transparent elections and action should be taken under the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct. Congress party has also raised the demand that vehicles coming from outside states should be banned in Kedarnath assembly constituency till the date of voting.
