Uttarakhand: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the 72nd State Gauchar Fair, inaugurated the newly constructed sub-divisional transport office building at a cost of Rs 4.93 crore in Chamoli
The 72nd State Industrial Development and Cultural Fair has started in Gauchar. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Gauchar Fair on Thursday. During this, the Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Sub Divisional Transport Office building in Chamoli at a cost of Rs 4.93 crore. The Chief Minister also announced the construction of Rano-Simkholi motor road in Pokhari, expansion of motor road from Kafalpani to Bharatpur, construction of Jilasoo-Sarana motor road, approval of Rs 10 lakh for construction of room to Chamoli Press Club, holding a high-level meeting in the month of December for the development of infrastructure facilities for the upcoming Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra and completion of the construction work of Polytechnic building in Pokhari.
Addressing a huge public meeting at the Gauchar Fair, the Chief Minister said that Gauchar Fair is a famous state fair due to the coordination of culture, market and industry. Congratulating everyone on the inauguration of the historic Gauchar Fair, the Chief Minister said that organizing this fair for more than seven decades is a matter of pride for our state and all the residents of the region. Gauchar Mela is one of the major historical fairs of our state, in which various departments of the government actively participate.
The Chief Minister said that fairs hold a very special place in our lives. Fairs help in preserving rich traditions. Fairs also play an important role in entertainment and social gathering. Gauchar Mela is more special than other fairs. This fair has been providing a big platform to preserve our culture and business activities.
The Chief Minister said that on the one hand, cultural heritage is being revived in India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. At the same time, through aspects like Vocal for Local, Make in India, Made in India, work is being done to encourage women working in our local industries and self-help groups. In this direction, our government has also started many important schemes. In which local products are getting recognition not only in the state but also at the national and international level.
The Chief Minister said that our aim is to stop migration from the mountains and provide employment opportunities to local residents by promoting tourism in the village. Due to the efforts of the state government, Uttarakhand has emerged as a very favorite destination for film shooting. Uttarakhand has also established a big identity as a wedding destination. The government is also focusing on special sectors like wellness, IT and solar energy to encourage investment in the mountainous region.
The Chief Minister said that recently heli service has been started in Gochar. Which will give a new strength to the tourism economy in this area. It will also be beneficial in times of disaster. The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously working with full commitment with the basic mantra of ‘vikalp nibandh’ to make Uttarakhand the leading state of the country. The CM said that your chief servant assures you that until Uttarakhand becomes the best state of the country, we will not sit idle. The Chief Minister also praised the district administration for giving a grand and attractive look to the fair.
During the program, the Chief Minister honored senior journalist Kranti Bhatt with Pandit Govind Prasad Nautiyal Smriti Samman for his excellent work in the field of journalism and Guru Ram Rai Education Mission Dehradun with Pandit Maheshanand Nautiyal Smriti Samman for promoting education and literature.
On the first day of Gauchar fair, after worshiping Ishta Rawal Devta, school children took out Prabhat Pheri in the morning. The Mela Adhyaksh hoisted the flag and saluted the march past. In the playground, competitive races of boys and girls, Nehru painting competition, baby exhibition and colorful cultural programs were presented by educational institutions. District level volleyball competition started under the aegis of the Sports Department. On the first cultural evening of the fair, cultural performances will be given by folk singers Sushil Rajshree, Amati Khare and Anjali Khare in the evening. The pandal decorated with traditional hill culture in Gauchar fair has become a special center of attraction among the visitors.
Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt and Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat praised the development works being done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Minister of the state Pushkar Singh Dhami and said that the development of the state is progressing rapidly under the leadership of the Chief Minister.
Regional MLA Anil Nautiyal heartily congratulated and welcomed the Chief Minister on inaugurating the Gauchar fair. The MLA thanked the Chief Minister for many development works including approval of base hospital in Karnaprayag assembly constituency, approval of 35 crores for Gauchar drinking water scheme, construction of mini stadium, upgradation of Gauchar hospital, beautification of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Park. He also gave his demand letter for many development works including construction of Astha Path in Uma Devi temple located in Karnaprayag.
On this occasion, former Cabinet Minister Rajendra Bhandari, BJP District President Ramesh Maikhuri, Minister of State Ramesh Gadiya, Block Pramukh Chandreshwari Rawat, IG Garhwal K. S Nagnyal, District Magistrate/Fair Chairman Sandeep Tiwari, Superintendent of Police Sarvesh Panwar, Chief Development Officer Nandan Kumar, Fair Officer Santosh Kumar Pandey and a large number of visitors were present.
