A meeting of the district level road safety committee was held today on Saturday 16 November under the chairmanship of Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal. The District Magistrate took several important decisions in the meeting. Along with this, measures to improve road safety and reduce accidents were discussed. Funds were approved on the spot for this.

The District Magistrate has also sought information about the causes of road accidents and suggestions from the departments to reduce accidents. Apart from this, District Magistrate Savin Bansal has sought a report within a week on the reasons for no recording in the CCTV camera on Monday night at the time of the Innova accident.

In the meeting, District Magistrate Savin Bansal directed to identify the causes of accidents and prepare an action plan for its improvement. Along with this, the Public Works Department officials were instructed to present the action plan for 3D marking speed breakers at other places including potential accident sites within a week. For this, the DM approved Rs 30 lakh on the spot.

Funds were approved from the untied fund for three years’ AMC of some faulty CCTV cameras of the police. For this, the SP Traffic was directed to present a proposal. Also, the district administration has made preparations to install 14 new traffic lights of the traffic police on zero investment model. The tendering process for this has also been completed. Also, the RTO was directed not to delay the zebra crossing and stoppage sign.

District Magistrate Savin Bansal said that instructions were given to get the faulty cameras of Smart City repaired within 10 days and submit a report. Also, along with connecting all the cameras installed in the city area of ​​the district to the Integrated Command and Control System of Smart City, instructions were given to the PWD officials to install high mast lights at Asharodi. Also, the police department was directed to connect the speed monitor cameras to the Integrated Command and Control System of Smart City.
