Uttarakhand: Almora highway closed for two days due to debris, vehicles are being sent via this route
The Almora highway was closed on Saturday due to the hill cracking. Due to continuous debris, the highway could not be opened even after two days. Due to the closure of the highway, the passengers going to the hills and the passengers going from the hills to Haldwani are facing a lot of problems.

The Almora-Haldwani National Highway was closed on Saturday due to landslides. But it could not be opened even on Sunday. The work of removing the debris has been started once again on Monday morning. Routes have been diverted due to the closure of the road. Now passengers are able to reach their destination by covering more distance by paying more money. Due to which people are facing a lot of problems.
Clearing the debris is very risky
Efforts are being made to open the Almora highway which has been closed for two days. But the debris and boulders falling continuously from the hill are becoming an obstacle in this. Due to which the administration and the Public Works Department also seem helpless in front of it. Due to falling of stones and debris, clearing the debris on the road has become a very risky job.

Let us tell you that Almora-Haldwani National Highway is a very important route. This route is the main route of Almora, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts. Due to the closure of the route, people of three districts are facing problems. Vehicles are being sent via Ranikhet. Due to additional trips, passengers have to pay more fare. This hill has been cracking for the last three months but no treatment has been done for it till now.
