Uttarakhand: Roadways buses for Delhi should be increased in frequency, CS gave instructions to Transport Secretary

Chief Secretary Radha Raturi directed the Transport Secretary to hold talks at the appropriate level today itself on the decision of the proposal to purchase 175 buses. Along with this, UTC was instructed to immediately work on a short term action plan to increase the number of roadways buses to Delhi and especially increase the frequency of buses on weekends.

Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has directed UTC to immediately work on a short term action plan to increase the number of roadways buses to Delhi and especially increase the frequency of buses on weekends to immediately resolve the inconvenience faced by the public due to the ban imposed on the old model diesel buses of Uttarakhand Transport Corporation in Delhi. She has also given instructions for coordination with UP for this. Process of operation of 30 CNG buses should be started soon

CS has directed that the operation of 100 CNG buses for which tender process has been completed and 30 buses have been received should be started soon. To provide immediate relief to the general public, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has directed the Transport Department to talk to Uttar Pradesh to operate UTC buses up to Mohan Nagar in Ghaziabad as well as Kaushambi. Buses fulfilling pollution control standards will directly enter Delhi. Ordinary buses will be able to go to Delhi border Mohan Nagar and Kaushambi.

310 buses fulfilling pollution control standards are being operated

In the meeting, Uttarakhand Transport Corporation informed that before the ban on old model diesel buses due to pollution in Delhi, 504 services of Roadways used to operate daily on Delhi route. But now 310 buses fulfilling pollution control standards are being operated.

194 buses have been banned. Before the ban, the load factor of roadways buses was about 40 percent, but now due to increase in frequency of bus services, the load factor has increased from 90 to 100 percent. Passengers going to Delhi are not facing any kind of inconvenience. The Chief Secretary has given instructions to clarify the misleading information in this regard.
