Uttarakhand: The noise of election campaign has stopped in Kedarnath, voting will be held on November 20, 6 candidates in the fray, direct contest between BJP and Congress
The vigorous campaigning for the Kedarnath assembly by-election in Uttarakhand has stopped at 5 pm on November 18. After this, any kind of rallies, public meetings and show of strength by the candidates has been banned. Candidates can now only appeal for votes from the public by door-to-door campaigning. Voting for the Kedarnath by-election will be held on November 20. While the counting of votes will be done on November 23. 6 candidates are in the fray for the seat.
90 thousand 875 voters will decide the fate of the candidates for the Kedarnath by-election. This includes 44 thousand 919 male and 45,956 female voters. While 1092 are handicapped and 641 voters are above 85 years of age. The number of first time voters is 2 thousand 441.
4 special and 10 sensitive booths
The State Election Commission has set up 173 polling booths for the Kedarnath by-election. In this, four booths have been specially prepared namely Youth Managed Polling Booth, Women Polling Booth, PWD Managed Polling Booth and Unique Polling Booth. While the Election Commission has identified 10 sensitive booths in the assembly constituency. In view of the by-election, Kedarnath Assembly has been divided into 2 Zonal Magistrate and 27 Sector Magistrate areas.

Asha Nautiyal from BJP, Manoj Rawat from Congress, Dr. Ashutosh Bhandari from Uttarakhand Kranti Dal and Tribhuvan Chauhan, RP Singh and Pradeep Rohan Rudhiya as independents.
