ED and CBI team reached Gaurav Mehta’s house in bitcoin scam case
In the bitcoin scam case, the ED on Wednesday raided Gaurav Mehta’s hideouts in Raipur. Audio and screenshots of Gaurav Gupta’s conversation with NCP leader Supriya Sule and Congress leader Nana Patole are also going viral. BJP has shared its audio and screenshot. Let us tell you that Gaurav Mehta was a blockchain foreign expert. At the same time, Amitabh Gupta was the commissioner in Pune Police.
40 FIRs have been registered in Maharashtra and Punjab regarding this scam. Investigation in this case started in 2018. According to the information, Amit Bhardwaj was the mastermind of this case. He cheated people by asking them to invest in bitcoin, after which the investors’ money was lost. After the scam, Bhardwaj fled to Dubai, after which he was deported from there. Police of many states have registered cases against Bhardwaj.
Amit Bhardwaj died of a heart attack in January 2022. Simpi Bhardwaj is Amit Bhardwaj’s sister-in-law and Ajay Bhardwaj’s wife. ED has also filed a chargesheet in the court in 2024 against Amit Bhardwaj and his family. It was alleged that Amit used to get people to invest in bitcoins in the name of multi-level marketing through his company Variable Tech Private Limited.
On the other hand, his company had collected bitcoins worth 6600 crores in 2017. In 2018, IPS Ravindranath Patil was added to investigate this fraud in Maharashtra and in the year 2022, he himself was arrested in this scam. It is alleged that bitcoins have also been made to disappear in this cryptocurrency cyber fraud. Later in 2018, it was found that the cryptocurrency wallet that was found contained bitcoins worth crores. These bitcoins worth crores of rupees were seized by two IPS officers Bhagyashree and Amitabh Gupta and a fake wallet was placed there which had no money.
Gaurav Mehta had testified when Ravindranath went to jail. Gaurav has played an important role in this case. He told that Gaurav Mehta told Ravindra Nath Patil on the phone that you have been framed by Amitabh Gupta and Bhagyashree. He has the real bitcoin wallet and there is a layer above him which has politicians. It includes Supriya Sule as well as Nanak Patole. Audio clippings were sent through Signal as proof and this money was used in the elections in 2019 and 2024.
