He wrote, The President of India, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, exercising the power conferred by the Constitution of India, appoints Justice D Krishnakumar, who is a judge of the Madras High Court, as the Chief Justice of Manipur High Court. He will take over after the retirement of Justice Siddharth Mridul, currently the Chief Justice of Manipur High Court, on 21.11.2024. I congratulate him.
Who is Justice Krishnakumar?
Let us tell you that Justice Krishnakumar was appointed as a judge of the Madras High Court on 7 April 2016. He will retire on 21 May 2025. He is the most senior judge in the Madras High Court and comes from the backward community. Before being promoted to the High Court, he has extensive experience in handling civil, constitutional and service matters with expertise in constitutional law.
