The doors of the second Kedarnath temple Madmaheshwar are closed for winter, now darshan will be given in Omkareshwar temple

The doors of the second Kedarnath temple of Panch Kedars, Madmaheshwar, were closed for the winter season on Wednesday morning at an auspicious time. The temple was decorated on this occasion. After the doors were closed, the festive palanquin of Lord Madmaheshwar and the Dev Nishans departed for the first stop Gaundar with local musical instruments Dhol-Damau. More than two hundred and fifty devotees were present on this occasion. In his message on the occasion of the closing of the doors of Madmaheshwar, Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) President Ajendra Ajay greeted the devotees.

BKTC Chief Executive Officer Vijay Prasad Thapliyal said that more than 18 thousand pilgrims visited Lord Madmaheshwar. A day before the closing of the doors, Yagya-Havan was performed in Shri Madmaheshwar Temple. The temple opened at 4:30 am on 20 November. After the morning worship, the devotees visited Lord Madmaheshwar. After that the process of closing the doors started in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. The self-manifested Shivling of Lord Madmaheshwar was covered with local flowers, fruits, and rice grains. After this, the priest T. Gangadhar Ling closed the doors of the temple in the auspicious time in the presence of the in-charge officer Yaduveer Pushpavan.

After the doors were closed, the temple was circumambulated with the temple committee employees and devotees. The right holders left for the first stop Gondar with the movable idol of Lord Madmaheshwar. BKTC media in-charge Dr. Harish Gaur said that after the doors are closed on Wednesday, 20 November, the movable idol of Lord Madmaheshwar will reach Gondar for night rest. It will stay at Rakeshwari temple on 21 November and Giriya on 22 November. On 23 November, leaving from Giriya, the movable idol of Lord Madmaheshwar will be seated at the winter seat Omkareshwar temple Ukhimath with its divine symbols.

With this, the winter worship of Lord Madmaheshwar will begin in Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath. It is noteworthy that the main Madmaheshwar fair is also organized on 23 November. A large number of devotees reach to have darshan of Lord Madmaheshwar ji. In-charge officer Yaduveer Pushpavan and Omkareshwar temple in-charge Ramesh Negi said that Shri Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath is being decorated with flowers for the Madmaheshwar fair.
