Uttarakhand: Cleanliness drive in Badrinath Dham, 1.5 ton of inorganic waste was removed, Nagar Panchayat earned 8 lakh rupees
The doors of the world famous Badrinath Dham have been closed for the winter season. In such a situation, after the completion of the Yatra, the Badrinath Nagar Panchayat conducted a two-day cleanliness campaign. During this, one and a half tons of inorganic waste was collected from various places. Whereas, the Nagar Panchayat has earned an income of 8 lakh rupees by disposing of inorganic waste during the entire Yatra period.
Cleanliness campaign in Badrinath Dham
Let us tell you that this time Badrinath Nagar Panchayat took the responsibility of cleaning the temple along with Badri Vishal’s Nagari. After the doors of Badrinath temple were closed, an intensive cleanliness campaign was run by the Nagar Panchayat. In which 50 environmental friends played an important role in cleaning. The Nagar Panchayat also conducted a cleanliness campaign in the Badrinath temple complex as well as Brahma Kapal, Astha Path, Tapt Kund, Main Bazaar along with Mana village, under which the environmental friends collected one and a half tons of inorganic waste.
Badrinath Nagar Panchayat became ‘rich’
On the other hand, this year, during the entire Yatra period, Nagar Panchayat Badrinath collected 180.70 tons of garbage. Out of this, the Panchayat sold 110.97 tons of garbage. This generated an income of 8 lakh rupees. Along with this, 29.82 lakhs were earned from Mana parking, 1.03 crores from eco fee, 28 lakhs from helicopter operation and 8 lakhs from usage charges.
The Nagar Panchayat was entrusted with the responsibility of cleaning in Badrinath
Badrinath Nagar Panchayat Executive Officer Sunil Purohit said that this year, the Nagar Panchayat was entrusted with the responsibility of cleaning the temple premises along with the city area in Badrinath Dham. In such a situation, after the end of the Yatra, the Panchayat carried out a cleanliness drive for two days in Badrinath Dham as well as Mana village. Under this, one and a half tons of inorganic waste was collected. During the entire journey period, an income of ₹ 8 lakh was earned by selling 110.97 kg of non-organic waste.
