Russia’s biggest attack on Ukraine so far, fired intercontinental ballistic missile for the first time

Recent tensions between Russia and Ukraine are increasing. Recently Ukraine had launched a missile attack on Russia. In retaliation, Russia on Thursday (21 November) attacked the Ukrainian city of Dnipro with intercontinental missiles. Russia is already preparing for this attack. The Ukrainian Air Force said on Thursday that Russia has launched an intercontinental missile RS-26 Rubezh during the attack on Ukraine.

Russia’s RS-26 Rubezh missile remains a topic of discussion amid the growing tension between Russia and Ukraine. For the first time Russia has used an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). According to the Ukrainian Air Force, this attack was carried out on the city of Dnipro from the Astrakhan region of Russia. RS-26 Rubezh is a state-of-the-art (intercontinental) intercontinental ballistic missile, designed to have the ability to strike up to 6000 km. RS-26 Rubezh has the ability to carry conventional and nuclear weapons.

Combat capability of ICBM

The range of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) is thousands of kilometers, which makes it quite lethal. It is specifically designed to target large areas. Launching such missiles by Russia can be seen as a display of its military power and a clear warning to Ukraine.

Russia’s strategy

Russia has not only strengthened its military bases, but is now trying to show its power and influence by using nuclear-capable missiles like ICBM. This launch has increased the fear of nuclear war globally. Experts believe that such decisions can directly affect international peace. However, the United Nations and other global organizations have expressed deep concern over this situation. The US, Britain, and other NATO member countries are keeping a close watch on this matter.
