Uttrakhand: Transport department became rich during festive season, earned ₹67 crore in October, close to target in November

The transport department has become rich by selling vehicles in the festive season of October-November. The transport department has earned about 19 crores more revenue than its target for the month of October. While in the month of November, the transport department is hoping that it will cross its target. In Dehradun, more than 9300 vehicles were sold in the month of October, which brought a revenue of 67 crores to the transport department. While from 1st November to 20th November, 6 and a half thousand vehicles have been registered in the transport department. The vehicles registered in the transport department in October and November are expected to meet the year-long target of the transport department.
The automobile market, which had slowed down in the month of September before the festive season, picked up speed after Navratri started in the month of October. In normal months, three to five thousand vehicles are sold in Dehradun. But during the festive season, vehicles were sold in large numbers. This not only made vehicle sellers rich but also made the transport department rich.
According to the transport department, a maximum of 3 to 5 thousand vehicles are sold in Dehradun every month. But this time this sale has crossed double. Due to the populist offers of the companies, people bought vehicles in large numbers. Automobile businessmen say that the delivery of cars during Navratri has also been more than last year. People started booking cars from September itself. Due to which there has been good sale during Navratri, Dhanteras and Diwali. Also, this time there has been a 30 percent increase in the sale of two wheeler and four wheeler vehicles as compared to last year.
RTO Sunil Sharma said that the festive season had arrived in the month of October. In which more than 9300 vehicles have been registered by the Transport Department in the month of October. The Transport Department has received a revenue of Rs 67 crore from the registration of vehicles, which is 19 crores more than the target of the Transport Department of 48 crores. Also, Diwali was the festival in the month of November. Vehicles have been sold even after Diwali. So far 6 and a half thousand vehicles have been registered in the month of November. It is expected that the Transport Department will cross the target of 51 crores for the month of November.
It has been told that the annual target of the Transport Department is 1300 to 1400 crores in the entire state. The target of Dehradun, Tehri, Haridwar and Uttarkashi districts under Dehradun division is about 825 crores. The Transport Department has reached 99 percent of its target. It is expected that the Transport Department will also complete its annual target in November.
