Uttarakhand: Pilgrimage became the basis of the economy of women groups, business of 91 lakh 75 thousand was done through travel outlets, Dhami said women are becoming self-reliant

Chardham Yatra and tourism activities are becoming the basis of the economy of women self-help groups. In this financial year, till the month of October, women groups have earned a net profit of ₹ 29.7 lakh by selling a total of ₹ 91.75 lakh through travel outlets opened on the travel route and major tourist centers. Uttarakhand State Rural Livelihood Mission, operating under the Rural Development Department, has established 110 ‘Travel Outlets’ at major religious and tourist places to improve the economic condition of rural women along with introducing devotees and tourists to the rich tradition and culture of Uttarakhand. Which are playing an important role in providing market to the products manufactured by local rural women.

At the same time, CM Dhami said that “The government is of the clear opinion that the state can move forward on the path of progress only by strengthening the economy of rural women. Therefore, the market is being made available to the product prepared by women self-help groups, the government is also running Lakhpati Didi Yojana for women associated with the groups”
