Mahagama assembly seat and Deepika
This time the contest in Mahagama was very interesting. BJP’s Ashok Kumar was in the electoral fray from here and Deepika Pandey Singh contested the election on behalf of Congress. Let us tell you that Mahagama assembly constituency is a part of Godda district as well as Godda Lok Sabha constituency. From the beginning, this area has been considered a stronghold of BJP. In the 2005 elections, BJP’s Ashok Kumar won from here. He defeated RJD’s Ataur Rahman Siddiqui and became MLA. In the 2009 elections, Congress won this seat. Congress leader Rajesh Ranjan defeated BJP’s then MLA Ashok Kumar and became MLA, but in the 2014 elections, BJP’s Ashok Kumar made a comeback by winning the election. And now since 2019, Congress’s Deepika Pandey Singh is winning from here and increasing the Congress’s tally by 1 seat every time. After Deepika’s second spectacular victory, the people of the area are now demanding to give Deepika the responsibility as a female Deputy Chief Minister. And a section of Congress leaders is also trying hard to make Deepika the Deputy CM.
