Priyanka Gandhi won Wayanad by more than 4 lakh votes, record victory for Congress

With a lead of nearly 4 lakh votes in the Wayanad by-election, Priyanka Gandhi has surpassed the victory margin of her brother Rahul Gandhi. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi won by a margin of 3,64,422. Rahul Gandhi then won a landslide victory by securing 6,47,445 votes. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has gone far ahead of her brother Rahul Gandhi in her electoral debut. She won the Wayanad by-election in Kerala by a margin of over 4 lakh votes. After this, Priyanka Gandhi congratulated the people of Wayanad on this victory.

The Wayanad seat fell vacant after Rahul Gandhi left. After this, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra entered the fray and it caught the attention of the whole country. Local Congress leaders had predicted that Vadra could get about six lakh votes out of the 9.52 lakh votes cast. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said on X that ‘Our leader Priyanka Gandhi ji getting an early lead in the by-election in Wayanad, Kerala is a surprising first trend on the day of counting. The people of Wayanad are definitely going to register a big victory margin today, and Priyanka ji will make a parliamentary debut with a spectacular victory.’
