Donald Trump’s big declaration against Canada, Justin Trudeau’s troubles will increase

America’s newly elected President Donald Trump has increased Canada’s problems even before his swearing-in. On Monday, Trump announced that he will impose a 25 percent tariff on every product coming to America from Canada. Apart from Canada, Trump has also announced a 25 percent tariff on products imported from America’s other neighboring country Mexico. Trump has also said that he will impose a 10 percent tariff on products coming from China.

What allegations did Trump make against Canada

Trump says that these proposed tariffs against Canada and Mexico are necessary to stop illegal immigrants and drugs. Trump wrote in a post on the Truth social network that as soon as he enters the White House on January 20, he will sign an executive order to impose tariffs against Canada, Mexico and China. Trump said, “Everyone knows that thousands of people from Canada and Mexico are entering America. These people are bringing drugs with them and committing many crimes. The level at which all this is happening has never happened before.”

Trump will increase Trudeau’s problems

Trump has criticized Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau several times. He called Trudeau an ‘extreme leftist lunatic’. Traditionally, the first foreign visit of any US president after assuming power was to Canada or Mexico, but Trump’s first foreign visit in 2017 was to Saudi Arabia. This was also seen as Trump’s anger against Canada.

Canada’s condition is already bad

Canada’s economic condition is already worrisome. Trump’s new announcement is expected to worsen it further. 75 percent of Canada’s exports go to the US. In such a situation, a tariff of 25 percent can prove to be costly for Canada. Trump has announced the imposition of tariff when elections are to be held in Canada. Many surveys have suggested that Justin Trudeau’s Conservative Party may lose the election. In such a situation, Trump’s decision before the election can worsen Trudeau’s condition in Canada.

Canada’s problems are going to increase

Canada’s relations with China and India are already very bad. In such a situation, it is not easy for Canada to take its business out of America. Even if Canada turns towards other countries, it is not going to get immediate relief. The Trudeau government of Canada is nurturing Khalistani terrorists against India. Not only this, Trudeau has also publicly accused India of killing a Khalistani terrorist. Since then, the relations between the two countries are at a low level.

Will Canada befriend India?

After Justin Trudeau’s departure, whoever comes to power in Canada, it will be a compulsion for them to befriend India. Living in Canada has already become very expensive. People are facing housing crisis. Inflation is continuously increasing. America is continuously increasing tariffs. In such a situation, it will be a compulsion for Canada to move closer to India commercially and strategically. At the same time, India’s economy is continuously growing. It is likely that in the next few years India will become the third largest economy in the world.
