The police has stopped Mohit Dimri, convenor of Bhoomi Kanun Sangharsh Samiti, from sitting on a hunger strike. Along with this, the gate of the Shaheed Smarak has been locked. Mohit Dimri has decided that now he will start a hunger strike outside the gate of the Shaheed Smarak for strong land laws and domicile.

These are the demands of the Sangharsh Samiti

The government should cancel the amendments made in the land laws after 2018. The agitators say that there has been a request to withdraw the amendments made after 2018, which are eliminating local agricultural land and affecting the pace of development in rural areas. The committee has demanded to cancel these amendments by calling a cabinet meeting and bringing an ordinance.

The government should make the draft of the land law public

The Sangharsh Samiti said that the government should make the draft of the land law public and remove Section 2 of the land law. Along with this, it has asked for a uniform land law in Uttarakhand and to clarify the definition of domicile. At the same time, the committee has asked the Dhami government to withdraw the decision to consider people living in UCC for one year as permanent residents.
