Sports Minister Rekha Arya held a meeting with Uttarakhand Olympic Association and Sports Department regarding National Games, IOA’s letter will be discussed with CM Dhami

Sports Minister Rekha Arya held a meeting at the National Sports Secretariat built in Dehradun Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium regarding the organization of the National Games as well as the letter sent by the Indian Olympic Association (IAO). Officials of Uttarakhand Olympic Association and Sports Department attended the meeting. After the meeting, Minister Rekha Arya had a special conversation on all the subjects.

Responding to the question of partial amendment in the date of the games, Sports Minister Rekha Arya said, such a demand has come from some sports federations. The Winter Asian Games being held in China has also been kept as a side, in which many players are participating. In such a situation, now this subject will be discussed with CM Pushkar Singh Dhami. Only after this the situation will become clear. According to Minister Rekha Arya, a meeting has been scheduled with Chief Minister Dhami. This subject will be discussed in detail in this meeting.

Uttarakhand ready for National Games

In a special conversation, Rekha Arya said on all the misconceptions spreading about the National Games, ‘Uttarakhand Government and Uttarakhand Sports Department are fully prepared to organize National Games in Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand has organised such big events in the past as well. And those who have doubts about the National Games not being held in Uttarakhand, their doubts will soon be shattered in the coming times.

Long term infrastructure establishments complete

Regarding the recent GTCC visit to Uttarakhand, Sports Minister Rekha Arya said that the sports experts who came to inspect the preparations in Uttarakhand have adopted a positive attitude. The long term infrastructure establishments have been completed. Now only the short term ones which are needed some time before the event are left to be prepared. She said that in the confusion that has spread recently about the National Games, nowhere has the Indian Olympic Association mentioned in its letter that the preparations in Uttarakhand are not complete.

Rekha Arya said, ‘People often think that how will a small state like Uttarakhand be able to organise such big events. Whereas the state of Uttarakhand has set an example by organising big events like G20 and Investor Summit. Now the most successful organisation of the National Games will also be in front of all of us. Those who doubt will be forced to bite their fingers.
