Disaster management policy will be reformed in Uttarakhand, disasters of the last 15 years will be reviewed
Recently, the Uttarakhand Disaster Management Department has sent a letter to the District Magistrates of all the districts, in which instructions have been given to review the disasters that have occurred in all the districts in the last 10 to 15 years. In the letter sent by the Disaster Management Department, it has also been said that the relief work and repair construction work done to reduce the impact of disasters should be evaluated. Also, it should also be seen where the shortcomings are in these efforts.
A new strategy will be prepared by studying the flaws in disaster management
The Disaster Management Department in Uttarakhand has also described the process of assessment by talking to public representatives, media and people affected by the disaster as important. Along with this, it has been instructed that a new strategy should be prepared by studying the shortcomings in disaster management. So that, if any disaster-like situation arises in the future, the department should be fully prepared.
All the District Magistrates will have to submit the evaluation and testing report in the month of December
Apart from this, it has also been mentioned in the letter that disaster management equipment should be tested. If any equipment is damaged, it should be repaired or new equipment should be brought and training should be given on it. So that it can be used properly in case of disaster. It has also been advised to dispose of the damaged equipment. The department has instructed all the District Magistrates to prepare and submit the report of this evaluation and testing by the month of December.
