UPCL has issued toll free number for smart meter, consumers’ problems will be solved immediately

The work of installing smart prepaid meters has started in the state. Consumers can get information about smart meters along with supply related information on UPCL’s toll free number 1912. At the same time, 63 male and 42 female employees are providing services in three shifts. Electricity related complaints are sent to the concerned departments on the toll free number, which are easy to resolve. The complaint number is issued as soon as the consumer registers the complaint.

You can also get a minimum recharge of Rs 100 by operating the smart meter from your mobile phone. After installing the smart meter, they will also avoid visiting the office in case of wrong bill like before. The consumer will be able to use electricity as per his requirement. Also, the consumer will get relief from the security deposit to be deposited as per per kilowatt. The consumer whose security deposit has already been deposited will be added to the recharge of the pre-paid smart meter. The Energy Corporation will immediately get the information of its breakdown and the action of replacing the meter free of cost will be done on priority basis.

UPCL MD Anil Kumar said that UPCL has started the process of installing new smart prepaid meters in place of old meters. The aim of this step is to provide more transparent and convenient billing service to consumers. With prepaid meters, consumers will be able to recharge according to their electricity consumption in advance and will get rid of billing inconveniences.

Solution of complaints related to smart meters

Along with this, a 24-hour centralized call center is being operated, on which information related to smart meters is being given along with electricity related complaints of consumers. Consumers can also track their complaints through self-service mobile application and get information. More than 500 problems are being resolved daily from the call center. If the complaints are not resolved soon, consumers can also register them by visiting the local complaint centers of UPCL.
