Uttarakhand: Winter Chardham Yatra will start from 8th December, CM Dhami will inaugurate it, worship will be done in Omkareshwar temple
Chardham Yatra 2024 has been completed in Uttarakhand. Now the Uttarakhand government is emphasizing on winter travel. To promote winter travel in Uttarakhand, not only Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will visit religious places and invite devotees, but other leaders including cabinet ministers will also visit winter religious places and promote those places. In this sequence, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will inaugurate the winter journey on December 8 by visiting Baba Kedar in Ukhimath located in Rudraprayag district.
Baba Kedar’s winter worship is done in Omkareshwar temple located in Ukhimath of Rudraprayag district. At the same time, winter worship of Uddhav statue, the messenger of Lord Badri, is done in Pandukeshwar. Apart from this, winter worship of Maa Yamunotri is done in Kharsali village of Uttarkashi district. Along with this, winter worship of Maa Gangotri is done in Mukhaba village situated on the banks of Bhagirathi river in Uttarkashi district.
Government announced exemption: This is the place where pilgrims can worship in winter after the doors of the main temples of Chardham are closed. To encourage winter travel, the government has also given some discounts to pilgrims and tourists. If a tourist or pilgrim stays in the guest house of GMVN (Garhwal Mandal Development Corporation), then a discount of ten percent will be given on room booking.
CM Dhami gave guidelines to the officials: At the same time, Chief Minister Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari said that the doors of Chardham are closed in winter. After this, the deities of Chardham are worshiped at the winter seat. Devotees can also attain virtue by visiting the winter seat. That is why the government is trying to promote the winter seat of Chardham as much as possible, so that a large number of tourists come here in winter. For this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave necessary guidelines to the officials of the concerned department.
According to Chief Minister Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari, on December 10, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is also going to hold a high-level meeting regarding the winter journey. On December 8, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is going to Rudraprayag, where he will also visit Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath, the winter seat of Baba Kedar, and invite devotees for the winter journey.
After visiting Baba Kedar in Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath, the CM will hold a meeting with the officials regarding the development works of the district and then will stay overnight in Rudraprayag district itself.
