When such news went viral on social media, BSP issued a statement. BSP said that such allegations are false and disciplinary action has been taken against the party leader because he was involved in anti-party activities.

Surendra Sagar is one of the big leaders of BSP in Bareilly and has been the party president in Rampur five times. He has also been a minister of state. Along with Surendra Sagar, Pramod Sagar, the president of BSP’s district unit in Rampur, has also been removed from the post and a show cause notice has also been issued.

However, even before this, in November, BSP supremo Mayawati had expelled many senior party officials from the party for attending the wedding of party leader Munqad Ali’s son. Munqad Ali is a relative of senior SP leader Qadir Rana. Munakad Ali’s daughter was contesting the assembly by-election from Meerapur on SP ticket and BSP was also contesting this by-election.
