Ukraine gets big relief in the war against Russia, America will again help with one billion dollars
America has once again come forward to help Ukraine. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has said that about one billion US dollars more aid will be given to provide weapons to Ukraine. This is being done because the Biden administration wants to spend the entire amount approved by Congress to strengthen Kiev before the newly elected US President Donald Trump takes office next month.
Ukraine needs weapons
The latest aid to Ukraine will provide drones and ammunition for the ‘High Mobility Artillery Rocket System’ or HIMARS. Ukraine is currently in great need of these weapons which will be made available through the ‘Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative’. The weapons provided through this initiative are to enhance the future capability of the Ukrainian army and not to bring immediate changes on the battlefield.
How much help has America provided so far
The US has provided more than US $ 62 billion in military aid to Ukraine since Russia’s invasion in February 2022. Austin said, “The process of providing this assistance will be started soon.” When asked whether Trump would continue military support to Ukraine, Austin said, “This administration took the decision to help on its own. The next administration will decide on further help on its own.”
