Uttarakhand: Doon-Haridwar police encounter with criminals, one got shot in the leg
Dehradun and Haridwar police had an encounter with three criminals travelling in a car at 1 o’clock last night. In the retaliatory firing, one criminal was shot in the leg. While two criminals fled from the spot.
Doon-Haridwar police encounter with criminals
The incident is from Bahadarabad area of Haridwar. According to the information received from the police, the three criminals had committed the theft incident in Raiwala. Doon Police chased the suspected criminal and the suspected i10 car of the theft incident in Raiwala area from Roorkee towards Haridwar. Bahadarabad police station was informed to check and stop the said vehicle.
Shot in the leg of the criminal
On the information, Bahadarabad police tried to stop the car for checking near Arogyaam under Shantarshah Chowki area. The criminals travelling in the car started running towards Baderi. Police of both the districts jointly chased the accused. Three criminals travelling in the car opened fire on the police. In the retaliatory firing, one criminal was shot in the leg.
The accused has committed more than half a dozen crimes. The accused Farman, resident of Nakud Saharanpur, has been sent to District Hospital Haridwar for treatment by the police. The criminal injured in the incident has previously been jailed in Uttar Pradesh, Dehradun and Haridwar in more than half a dozen cases of theft and burglary. The police have recovered a pistol of 315 bore and empty cartridges from the accused. The criminal was involved in the incidents of theft in Raiwala. The police was continuously tracing him.
