The third ‘Tehri Water Sports Cup 2024’ organized at Tehri Lake, one of the largest dams in Asia, has concluded. CM Pushkar Dhami attended the closing ceremony. On this occasion, CM Dhami said that the infrastructure related to sports is being developed rapidly in the state. In which Tehri Lake is fully suitable to provide excellent facilities in adventure sports etc.
In the closing ceremony of Tehri Water Sports Cup 2024, CM Pushkar Dhami said that the sports related infrastructure is being developed rapidly in Uttarakhand. Now the organization of National Games will infuse new energy among the youth. He said that Tehri Lake can play an important role in the economy here not only in the field of energy production and water management, but also in terms of adventure sports.
Out of turn appointment is being given to the players who win medals
CM Dhami said that sports is not only important for physical and mental development, but is also very important for personality development. The state government is constantly trying to enhance the talent of the youth. A new sports policy has been implemented in Uttarakhand, through which players who win medals at the national and international level are being given ‘out of turn’ appointment.
He said that 4 percent reservation is being given to players in government services. Sports University is also being built in Uttarakhand, which will provide world-class training facilities to the players. Apart from this, sports infrastructure is also being developed. This time the National Games (38th National Games) will be organized on the theme of Green Games.

At the same time, CM Dhami also made three announcements. In which the roads of Tehri Medical College will be hotmixed. Along with this, sports grounds and multi parking will be built in New Tehri. THDC CMD RK Vishnoi said that a sports academy is also being established in Tehri. Along with this, we will work to provide employment to the local youth.
Tehri Dam’s PSP is an important scheme. Where 4 machines of 250 MW will work. This is the biggest scheme of the country. The Government of India is paying special attention to it. The country’s Prime Minister will inaugurate this project. Preparations are underway for it. Meanwhile, Tehri Dam Project Director LP Joshi said that along with electricity generation, work is also being done on sports and employment, drinking water and irrigation in Tehri Lake.
