Uttarakhand: IMA Passing Out Parade concluded in Dehradun, know the details of POP in one click – IMA POP 2024
The day of 14 December 2024 was not only special for 491 cadets at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), but this day is also very important for their parents and the country. Although 491 cadets have passed out from the academy today. Out of these, 456 cadets are those who have fulfilled their dream of becoming officers in the Indian Army. Activities for the passing out parade started at the Indian Military Academy from Saturday morning itself. The cadets became part of the army with the first step at around 12:30 pm in the afternoon.
The families of the cadets started arriving at the parade ground at around 6 am on Saturday amid severe cold in the academy. During this, heavy traffic was faced near the Indian Military Academy in the morning. However, the time for the family members including the media to reach the parade ground was fixed by 7:30. But the cadets reached the parade ground in front of the historic Chetwood building at exactly 8:54 am for the parade. About 36 minutes later, the chief guest and reviewing officer of the passing out parade, the Chief of Army Staff of Nepal, came to the parade ground to take the salute.
After this, the cadets started the parade by marching. During this, the Chief of Army Staff of Nepal gave medals to the cadets who gave better performance during training at the academy. Before this, the reviewing officer inspected the parade and also took the salute of the parade.
After this, Nepal Army Chief Ashok Raj in his message talked about the better efforts of the academy and wished the passing out officers good luck for the upcoming challenges.
This parade program continued for about an hour on the ground in front of Chetwood Bhawan. In which the cadets completed the training by crossing the last step. During this, three helicopters were seen welcoming the new officers of the Indian Army from behind the Chetwood Bhawan by showering flowers from the sky.
Seeing this scene of the marching of the cadets in the parade and the rain of flowers from the sky, the family members and army officers present here welcomed them with thunderous applause.
Exactly one hour and 27 minutes after the cadets crossed the first step, the piping ceremony started at the Nizam Pavilion. During this, the new army officers took oath and the family members placed stars on the shoulders of their loved ones.
