Air connectivity is getting stronger in Uttarakhand, heli service will start for Gangotri-Yamunotri

In the last few years, heli service services have increased across the state.

Air service will be available for Yamunotri and Gangotri

During the Uttarakhand Chardham Yatra, devotees get air services for Badrinath and Kedarnath, while some devotees travel by air from Gauchar to Badrinath and Sonprayag Guptkashi to Kedarnath. Now for the first time, devotees will also get heli services for Gangotri and Yamunotri. The helipad is already ready in Gangotri Dham. The helipad is being prepared before the start of the yatra in Yamunotri.

Helipad ready in Gangotri

Uttarkashi DM Meherban Singh Bisht said that the work of helipad being built in Yamunotri Dham is almost complete. We will use this helipad for passengers and in times of disaster. It is expected that in the coming pilgrimage, devotees will get heli service to reach here, while we have already built a helipad in Gangotri. He said that like Badrinath and Kedarnath, by building helipads in Gangotri and Yamunotri, devotees will get the benefit of traveling in less time.

Religious darshan of Almora and Pithoragarh will also become easy

Heli services are also being continuously improved in Kumaon. Air services have started for Golju Devta of Almora or Jageshwar Dham. Devotees will get helicopter service from Pantnagar Airport and Pithoragarh. You can also take air services from Pantnagar to Pithoragarh. Along with this, air services are also running from Dhara helipad to these two cities. You can visit places like Champawat Munsiyari along with Almora and Pithoragarh in a short time. There is a helicopter service from Pithoragarh to Almora at 10 am, while helicopters are flying from Almora to Pithoragarh at 10:20 am. The helicopter is leaving from Pithoragarh at 1:40 pm and the same helicopter is leaving from Almora at 2:05 pm.

Air service also in Harshil, Mussoorie and Nainital

Air services are also running continuously for Harshil valley of Uttarkashi. The helicopter is flying from Dehradun to Uttarkashi twice a day. Similarly, tourists can also see the beautiful valleys of Mussoorie and Nainital from helicopter. Air service is already being operated from Dehradun to Mussoorie and Mussoorie to see the Himalayas. Through this service, you can also go from Mussoorie to Himalayas and Dehradun to Mussoorie by air. Although the distance between the two is not much, but this journey full of time and adventure can be memorable for you. Apart from this, air services are also going to start for Nainital. Air service from Dehradun to Nainital and Dehradun to Bageshwar is going to start soon.

Air service in Neeb Karori too

Air services can also start soon in Baba Neeb Karori Dham, the center of faith of devotees. For this, the local administration has also selected the place and the chopper trial has also been successful many times. Now the NOC is awaited from the government hospital. It is expected that in the year 2025, air services from Dehradun and Pantnagar will also start here.

Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority CEO Sonika said that we are constantly working to improve air connectivity in Uttarakhand. We have reduced the distance between Garhwal and Kumaon to a great extent in the last few months. We already have air services from Dehradun to Kumaon and Kumaon to Dehradun. Now we want that tourists can avail the benefits of air services to other places as well. For this, air services are being started to other places besides Gangotri-Yamunotri. He said that very soon you will see this experiment at some new place. The helipads being built will be useful for tourism as well as in special circumstances.
