Uttarakhand: Body donation of a six-day-old newborn in Rishikesh, he died in AIIMS, family took the decision

The parents have donated the body of a five-day-old newborn who died of cardiac arrest in AIIMS Rishikesh. With the help of Lions Club Rishikesh Devbhoomi and Mohan Foundation, the body of the newborn has been given to Graphic Era Medical College, Dehradun. Research will be done on the body of the newborn in the medical college.
Uttarkashi’s Manoj Lal and Vinita Devi set an example
Actually, the example that Manoj Lal and Vinita Devi, residents of Uttarkashi, have set in front of the society by donating the body of the newborn will be remembered by people for life. Let us tell you that Vinita Devi, wife of Manoj Lal, a resident of Adni Rontal village of Uttarkashi and a driver by profession, gave birth to a son on January 6. After birth, the newborn had trouble breathing. In such a situation, they admitted the newborn to AIIMS Rishikesh on January 7.
Newborn died due to cardiac arrest
After examination, AIIMS doctors said that the newborn’s breathing and food pipe were stuck together. In such a situation, after getting consent, the team of doctors operated on the newborn, but the newborn died due to cardiac arrest. In this hour of grief, father Manoj Lal contacted Muktidham Committee’s Sevadaar Anil Kakkar regarding the last rites of the newborn.
Sevadaar Anil Kakkar told Manoj Lal that the newborn is not cremated. Rather, it is either buried in the ground or floated in the Ganga. When Manoj Lal asked for other options, Anil Kakkar advised to donate the body of the newborn to the medical college in public interest.
Manoj Lal grieved losing his son, donated in public interest
Manoj Lal decided to donate the body of the newborn after talking to the family members in his village. Manoj Lal said that there is a lot of grief of losing the son, but by keeping a stone on his heart, he has donated the body of the newborn son to the medical college for public interest.
Four donations of bodies have been done with the help of Lions Club
Lions Club President Gopal Narang and Mohan Foundation’s Uttarakhand Project Leader Sanchit Arora said that the body of the newborn has been given to the Anatomy Department of Graphic Era Medical College. So far, four donations of bodies have been done with the help of the club. Whereas, 11 persons have filled the pledge form to donate their bodies after death.
