Uttarakhand: The weather department’s prediction proved true, the rain in the state brought down the temperature in the plains, the peaks of the mountains were covered with snow

Today the weather changed again in Uttarakhand. Due to snowfall in Badrinath, Hemkund Sahib and Valley of Flowers on Saturday, the cold has increased in the lower areas. Clouds were overcast since morning. Snowfall started in the high altitude areas after noon. Due to this, there is severe cold in Jyotirmath, Pandukeshwar and surrounding areas. The district was experiencing bright sunshine for the last two weeks.
Weather will be clear in the mountains from 13th, fog will increase chill in the plains
According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Center, the weather will be clear in the hilly districts from January 13, while fog is likely to prevail in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts.
Cold wave will trouble people due to fog in the plains on Sunday. At the same time, there are chances of lightning with loud thunder in the mountains. Yellow alert for fog has been issued in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar district, while there is a possibility of thunderstorms with lightning in Nainital, Tehri, Haridwar, Pauri and Champawat including Doon.
On the other hand, Doon remained cloudy throughout the day on Saturday. The chill increased due to cold wave in the evening. The maximum temperature of the day was recorded at 20 degrees and the minimum at 7.2 degrees.
Schools will open after 8:30 am till January 31
In view of the dense fog and cold wave for the past few days, all schools and Anganwadi centers will open after 8:30 am till January 31 in the entire district. In this regard, District Magistrate Savin Bansal has directed the Chief Education Officer and District Program Officer. It has been said in the letter that the dry cold is causing a lot of trouble due to cold wave and fog along with frost. However, during winters, most of the schools are operated only after 9 o’clock, but the timing of some schools is from 7:30 am to 8 am. In such a situation, the operating timings of these schools will also have to be changed till January 31.
