Uttarakhand civic elections, BJP begins action against rebels, expels 139 leaders from the party

BJP has started taking action against rebels in Uttarakhand civic elections. BJP has expelled 139 rebel leaders from seven districts. Many leaders expelled from the party have put their pain in front of the media and also taunted BJP. Some rebels even called BJP a Congress-dominated party.

BJP has started showing the way out to rebel leaders who contested against its party candidates in Uttarakhand civic elections. BJP had given all rebel leaders a chance till January 8 and gave a last ultimatum to support the BJP candidate. Despite this, many leaders did not support the BJP candidate, after which BJP started asking for a list of rebel leaders from the districts. Similarly, BJP expelled a total of 139 rebel leaders from seven districts.

Most rebels in Garhwal division

On Saturday, action was taken against 100 leaders of Garhwal division. In Garhwal division, the maximum number of rebel leaders have emerged from Dehradun metropolis. In Dehradun metropolis, BJP has shown the way out to 73 leaders. The state BJP has authorized all the district presidents to expel rebel candidates.

According to Uttarakhand BJP state general secretary Aditya Kothari, about 139 party workers and officials have been expelled from both Garhwal and Kumaon divisions, who are contesting against the party candidate in the civic elections.

Action taken in seven districts:

  • 4 rebels were expelled in Uttarkashi.
  • 12 rebels were expelled in Chamoli.
  • 2 rebels were expelled in Rudraprayag.
  • 73 rebels were expelled in Dehradun metropolis.
  • 23 rebels were expelled in Rishikesh.
  • 17 rebels were expelled in Srinagar of Pauri Garhwal district.
  • 8 rebels were expelled in Pithoragarh.

Apart from these, the expulsion list is yet to come from Dehradun rural, Tehri Garhwal, Haridwar, Roorkee, Kotdwar, Champawat, Nainital, Kashipur and Udham Singh Nagar districts. As soon as this list is received at the BJP state headquarters, the party will release it.

There are no rebels in these districts

On the other hand, Bageshwar, Almora and Ranikhet are such cities where BJP does not have any rebels. That is, the rebels who had entered the fray here, have given their support to the BJP candidate. That is why no expulsion action of any kind is going on in these districts.

Rebels expelled from the party open front

The rebel leaders who were shown the way out by BJP accusing them of being involved in anti-party activities, have now opened a front against the party. BJP expelled councilor candidate Prasad Bhatt said that he has been serving BJP for the last 12 years. He has held many different posts in the BJP organization. This time he had asked for a councilor ticket from Dehradun Municipal Corporation, but the party did not give him the ticket. That is why he had decided to contest the election as an independent.

Prasad Bhatt says that the way the number of Congress leaders is increasing in BJP, it can only be said that BJP is no longer a Congress-free party, but a Congress-filled party. There are many rebel leaders like Prasad Bhatt. Who have made it clear that they have worked for the party for years, but when they asked for a ticket, they were sidelined.

At the same time, the candidates expelled from the party have formed their own front. Most of the candidates who rebelled from BJP have also kept their election symbol the same. The rebel candidates say that they have made the nomination for their honor.

At the same time, regarding the rebel leaders in Dehradun Municipal Corporation, Dehradun Metropolitan BJP President Siddharth Agarwal said that he had released a list of 47 such workers, who were contesting elections against the party candidates and all of them have been expelled from the party for 6 years. Siddharth Agarwal has made it clear that the expelled party leaders will not return to BJP soon.
