NHM director serious about anemia patients in Uttarakhand, orders to run campaign

A state level review meeting of the National Health Mission (NHM) was held in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. Various programs and campaigns were reviewed in this meeting chaired by Swati S Bhadoria, Uttarakhand Mission Director of NHM.

In the meeting, Mission Director Swati S Bhadoria obtained information about the basic services being provided in the Ayushman Arogya Mandir established in the districts under the Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) and Non Communicable Diseases program. Also, the concerned officials were asked to evaluate and supervise it from time to time.

Director Bhadoria also asked the officials to pay special attention to the case of severe anemia as well as run anemia campaign. The 100-day campaign currently being run under the TB eradication program was also reviewed in the meeting. Regarding this, all the districts were directed that through the campaign, maximum number of people should be screened through X-ray machine and TB patients should be identified.

Apart from this, the districts Champawat, Almora, Uttarkashi, Bageshwar and Tehri, which performed well in the mobile academy training course conducted for ASHAs in the state, were also awarded by the HM director. In the meeting, the mission director has also directed the concerned officials to fill the posts of ASHA, ASHA facilitator, block coordinator and district coordinator under the community process after following the model code of conduct.
