Uttarakhand: Girls from Balika Niketan, District Sharanalaya and Shishu Sadan met Chief Secretary Radha Raturi
On the occasion of National Girl Child Day, about 30 girls from Government Girls Niketan, Kedarpuram, District Sharanalaya and Praveshsalaya and Shishu Sadan met Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Mrs. Radha Raturi in her office and had an informal conversation. CS Mrs. Radha Raturi talked in detail with each girl present on the occasion about their education, personal life and future plans, answered the questions of the girls and encouraged them.
On being asked by Chief Secretary Mrs. Radha Raturi, Pooja, a student of class 9 living in Government Girls Niketan, Kedarpuram, told that she wants to become a lawyer in future. CS Mrs. Raturi encouraged Pooja for her excellent performance in school education and directed the District Probation Officer and the officials of the Girls Niketan to provide necessary guidance, counseling and proper information to Pooja for making a career in the field of law. Similarly, Priya Sharma, a student of class 7 living in the same Balika Niketan, told the Chief Secretary that she wants to become an Army officer in future. Chief Secretary Mrs. Raturi directed the District Probation Officer to arrange physical training and coaching for Priya with the help of Sainik Welfare Department. CS advised Pooja to work hard in studies along with physical fitness. On being asked by the Chief Secretary, Khushboo Rawat told that she is doing graduation in Yoga and wants to make a career in this field. Bhavana Rawat told that she wants to make a career in fashion designing. Khushboo and Bhavana Rawat are from Almora and after completing their studies with the help of Balika Niketan, they want to go back to their village. Similarly, Raunak, Riya, Sakshi Bhatt, Khushi, Roshni, Shifa, Sangeeta and Nargis from Government Balika Niketan, Shivani, Vimala, Naina, Ruchi from District Sharanalaya and Rama, Laxmi and Radha from Shishu Sadan also talked to Chief Secretary Mrs. Radha Raturi.
The Chief Secretary has given instructions to make proper arrangements for education, health services and career counseling for all the girls living in Balika Niketan and Sharanalaya. Chief Secretary Mrs. Radha Raturi told the girls that it is important to focus on good education and skill development for their bright future, better career and economic empowerment. Better education is a means of social empowerment of women. The state government has also implemented various schemes to promote economic and social empowerment of women. Chief Secretary wished the girls a bright future and assured them of every possible help in the future.
