After which the angry crowd pelted stones at the police. The police also chased the crowd away by hitting them with sticks. There was a tense situation regarding the matter. MLA Mamta Rakesh sat on a dharna with her son Abhishek Rakesh regarding the incident. During this, MLA Mamta Rakesh broke down in tears. The MLA demanded re-polling.

In fact, the polling station for ward five of Nagar Panchayat in Bhagwanpur town was set up for the first time in the town’s BD Inter College. Voting continued peacefully here till 5 pm yesterday. It is said that at 5 pm, the police closed the gate of the polling station after the polling time was over. About 200 women and men were standing in line inside the polling station. During this, some mischievous element threw stones at the women standing in line. After which people started creating a ruckus on the spot. After this, there was a stampede on the spot. When the police used batons, people ran outside. After coming out, the crowd pelted stones at the police. After which the police chased the crowd away till the telephone exchange by using batons.

At the same time, there was chaos on the highway due to this incident. After getting the information about the lathi charge, MLA Mamta Rakesh reached the spot with her son Abhishek Rakesh and sat on a dharna outside the polling booth. During this, Mamta Rakesh broke down and accused the police of not allowing people to vote and chasing them away by using batons.
