Uttarakhand: Congress called Uniform Civil Code a political stunt, pointed out many loop holes, cornered Dhami government

Congress state president Karan Mahara has called the UCC being implemented in the state a political stunt. He said there are many discrepancies in it. Karan Mahara said that the BJP government is going to implement the Uniform Civil Code law in the state, which is against the Constitution (Article 44). If it is reviewed in the Supreme Court, then this law will not stand anywhere.

Congress state president Karan Mahara said that divorce has been talked about under section 40. In which it is told that the dispute of divorce will come at one place, if a woman has filed a case in Uttarakhand, a man has filed a case in another state, in such a situation how can the case be filed at one place. Karan Mahara says that there are many sections in the Uniform Civil Code law in which there is confusion. He has also lodged a strong objection to the use of the word cohabitant in part three.

Karan Mahara has also strongly criticized the promotion of live-in relationship in UCC. He says that my country India and Uttarakhand do not allow this at all. Karan Mahara says that the Bharatiya Janata Party government should clarify this, otherwise the Congress Party will go among the people of the entire state, especially regarding the matter of Part 3. The Congress Party will meet the people of Uttarakhand and discuss Part 3. They will ask them whether we accept what the BJP has done to us in the name of Uniform Civil Code? He has described the dirty politics of bringing the culture of Bangkok to Uttarakhand. Because there are many such sections in this law, in which it is necessary to get it passed from the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to make changes. Therefore, the steps that the Dhami government is taking are absolutely wrong.
