Uttarakhand: MLA Umesh Kumar gets bail in Haridwar firing case, Pranav Singh Champion goes to jail

Independent MLA Umesh Kumar from Khanpur assembly seat of Haridwar district was presented in the court. Former MLA Pranav Singh Champion’s wife Kunwarani Devyani had filed a case against Umesh Kumar in Roorkee Civil Lines police station. The court has granted bail to MLA Umesh Kumar on two bonds of Rs 40,000 each. The court has already sent Pranav Singh Champion to jail in judicial custody for 14 days.

Kunwarani Devyani alleged in the complaint given to the police that Umesh Kumar had come to her palace and camp office at around 9 pm on Saturday, January 25. During this time, Umesh Kumar also tried to enter her house. On the complaint of Kunwarani Devyani, the police have arrested Umesh Kumar and some of his associates, who were presented in the court today. The court has already granted bail to Umesh Kumar.

Earlier, Pranav Singh Champion was presented in the court. The court has sent Pranav Singh Champion and his four associates to jail for 14 days. Let us tell you that Pranav Singh Champion is accused of entering the office of Khanpur MLA Umesh Kumar along with his supporters and firing indiscriminately. After which the police arrested Pranav Singh Champion and his four companions from Dehradun. Champion was also produced in the court today.

Know where the dispute between the two leaders started

Let us tell you that in the 2022 Uttarakhand Assembly elections, BJP had given ticket to Pranav Singh Champion’s wife Kunwarani Devyani from Khanpur assembly seat. At the same time, Umesh Kumar contested from this seat as an independent candidate. In this election, Kunwarani Devyani lost to Umesh Kumar. Since then, there has been a tussle between the two leaders. Both are often seen abusing each other on social media. But on Saturday, there was a comment again between the two on social media.

After this, Umesh Kumar along with his supporters reached Pranav Singh Champion’s palace on Saturday night and created a ruckus. On Sunday, Pranav Singh Champion along with his supporters reached Umesh Kumar’s office, where he assaulted Umesh Kumar’s staff. After this, Pranav Singh Champion and his supporters also opened fire.
