Uttarakhand: The Chief Secretary sought a report from the district officials on the increase in the income of women due to the implementation of livelihood related schemes in the state.
How much has the income of women increased due to the implementation of livelihood related schemes in the state? Calling for a report from all the District Magistrates with this question, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has given strict instructions to the District Magistrates to monitor the output of all the livelihood related schemes. She has instructed to collect regular data in this regard. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi approved 12 schemes in Udham Singh Nagar, 14 schemes in Uttarkashi, 12 schemes in Chamoli, 24 schemes in Champawat and 21 schemes in Pithoragarh under the Chief Minister Border Area Development Program (MBADP) in the meeting of the State Level Screening Committee of Chief Minister Border Area Development Program (MBADP) and Chief Minister Migration Prevention Scheme (MPRY) held in the Secretariat. Most of these schemes included schemes related to establishment of packaging machine unit, handloom training, mini spice mill, kiwi, mushroom cluster development, construction of plant nursery, flower production, production of local products, establishment of dairy unit. Along with this, Chief Secretary Raturi approved 10 schemes for Almora, 2 for Udham Singh Nagar, 4 for Uttarkashi, 3 for Chamoli, 29 for Champawat, 16 for Tehri, 6 for Dehradun, 6 for Nainital, 4 for Pithoragarh, 16 for Pauri, 13 for Bageshwar and 8 for Rudraprayag under the Chief Minister’s Migration Prevention Scheme.
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has directed to link the products produced by women self-help groups through livelihood development related schemes operated under the Chief Minister Border Area Development Program (MBADP) and Chief Minister Migration Prevention Scheme (MPRY) with Uttarakhand’s umbrella brand House of Himalaya.
Secretary Radhika Jha, Shri Chandresh Kumar, Uttarakhand Rural Development and Migration Commission Vice President Dr. S.S. Negi along with officials of Rural Development, Education, Cooperation, Tourism and related departments were present in the meeting.
