Uttarakhand: Srinagar Mayor Aarti Bhandari will not join any political party, said- focus is only on development

She said that the public has blessed her as an independent candidate. Respecting this mandate, she will keep the development of the city as her priority. Her focus will be only on the development of Srinagar. If needed, she will meet the Chief Minister and ministers.

He said that in this election he fought against a strong power who had resources, but the support and trust of the public made him win. Mayor Aarti Bhandari said that new areas have been included in the Municipal Corporation, where the infrastructure is not fully developed. Providing facilities in these areas will be her priority. She assured that the door of the mayor’s office will remain open for every citizen. At the same time, Mayor Bhandari said that in this election, not promises, but the blessings of the public worked.
Expectations of elected councillors
At the same time, the councillors of those new 27 wards also have high hopes for the development of their wards from the first mayor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Aarti Bhandari. Those areas could never become wards in the past when Srinagar Municipality was a part of it. But after the expansion of the area to form the corporation in the year 2021, 27 new wards have been created out of the total 40 wards. Now that the municipal elections are over, the councillors of the new wards also have high hopes from the first mayor of the corporation.
