The dispute between Kunwar Pranav Champion and MLA Umesh Kumar is taking a new turn every day. Despite the cancellation of Mahapanchayat on 29 January, a large number of people from Gurjar community had reached Champion’s Landhaura Rangmahal. Today, on 31 January, on the call of Umesh Kumar, his supporters gathered for a meeting. However, Doiwala police took into custody independent MLA Umesh Kumar who had come to attend the meeting. When Umesh Kumar also left to attend the meeting, Doiwala police took him into custody.

The police administration had already struggled with the crowd of people of Gurjar community who had come in support of Champion. Then the crowd had broken the police barricade. Therefore, today they were already prepared. Police had put up barricades at Khanpur border, Balawali border and Roorkee Tiraha, Balawali Tiraha.

Umesh Kumar asked supporters to maintain peace

It is being told that MLA Umesh Kumar is constantly keeping an eye on this matter even in police custody. He has released a video on social media and appealed to his supporters to maintain peace. At present, the situation in Laksar is under the control of the police and the crowd is being prevented from going to Umesh Kumar’s office.

Pandit Pravesh Dutt, who arrived from Ghaziabad, said that today Brahmins and 36 communities from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand have reached Laksar to pay respect to the mother. He said that today we are all with the MLA in his honour. The insult of Umesh Kumar’s mother is our insult. He also said that political fight should not be made a personal fight.

SP Rural Haridwar Shekhar Suyal said that the situation is under control. There was mild tension at some places, which has been resolved.
