Uttarakhand / Dehradun: Bihari Mahasabha performed worship of goddess of knowledge “Maa Saraswati” with due rituals, BMS organized cultural programs on Basant Panchami

Saraswati Puja Basant Panchami program was celebrated with great pomp today at Shiv Bal Yogi Ashram situated on Rajpur Road. The program started with Murti Puja, after which Havan Kirtan Bhajan and Bhandara were organized. Bhandara was arranged for all the guests and devotees who came to the venue. From 4:00 pm, the cultural program was organized by the artist from Bihar, Professor Vijay Kapoor of Banaras Hindu University.
Let us tell you that this was the 19th year of Basant Panchami Saraswati Puja. Basant Panchami Saraswati Puja is organized every year by Bihari Mahasabha. This was the 19th year of Puja organized by the Sabha. Excellent programs were presented at the venue by the artists from Bihar.
Let us tell you that Saraswati Puja Mahotsav is regularly organized by Bihari Mahasabha, Dehradun at 180C, Shiv Balyogi Ashram, Rajpur Road, Dehradun, Uttarakhand since the year 2006 under the guidance of Shri Shiv Balyogi Maharaj. This festival is celebrated on the fifth day of Magh Shukla Paksha according to the Hindi calendar, hence it is also known as Vasant Panchami.
This day is also celebrated as the Vidyarambha Sanskar of children, in which children start their education process. This is an important tradition that makes children understand the importance of education and gives them a sense of sacrifice at the beginning of studies.
In Vidyarambha Sanskar, small children worship Vidya Mata and receive blessings for her grace. After this, they are taught to write and read letters for the first time, in which their intelligence is developed and they are motivated to move forward on the path of education.
Under this tradition, the children’s family and society members also encourage them and provide support in their studies. This wonderful festival of Vidyarambha Sanskar perpetuates the importance of education in the lives of children and leads them towards prosperity and success through good education.
This festival is also traditionally celebrated by farmers. On this day, farmers worship their plough. By worshipping the plough, farmers get the message that their hard work and their relationship with Mother Earth is very fundamental and important.
On this day, farmers clean their plough and decorate it with incense, lamps and flowers. The purpose of their prayer is that Mother Earth should lead them on the path of prosperity and success and bless them with good crops.
