Uttarakhand: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will inaugurate the Mega Startup Summit, it will be organized under the Devbhoomi Udmita Yojana under the Higher Education Department

Under the Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana being run by the Higher Education Department, a two-day mega startup summit is being organized at Doon University on Tuesday and Wednesday. Which will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

In a press conference held at the Media Center in the Secretariat on Monday, Dr. Deepak Pandey, Nodal Officer / Assistant Director of Entrepreneurship Development in the Higher Education Department, said that the Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana has been started to promote entrepreneurial ecosystem and startup culture in line with the National Education Policy-2020 in the state universities, university campuses and affiliated institutions of the state of Uttarakhand. In this sequence, under the MoU with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad, in the last one year, 21266 students of various educational institutions of the state have registered on its official portal. Now, in the Mega Startup Summit being organized on the completion of one year of the scheme, more than 60 products of the students registered under the scheme will be displayed. He informed that under the scheme, patent applications of seven students have been made in the last one year, out of which one has also been registered.

Under the scheme, the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship Development has so far developed 185 faculty members of higher educational institutions as mentors, and to promote entrepreneurship awareness and skills, 75 two-day startup boot camps have been successfully organized in various higher educational institutions so far, in which 12,300 participants participated. Establishment of Devbhoomi Entrepreneurship Centers: To provide assistance to students and local youth for entrepreneurship and self-employment, 124 Devbhoomi Entrepreneurship Centers have been established across the state. Similarly, to provide guidance and assistance to new entrepreneurs in their specific areas, 10 higher educational institutions have been given the status of Center of Excellence last year. A total of 30 Centers of Excellence are to be established under the scheme. On this occasion, Deputy Secretary Higher Education Byomkesh Dubey, Director General of Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship Development Sunil Shukla were also present.
