Uttar Pradesh: Fight in Banke Bihari temple: Sevadaars beat up devotees, three including two women injured

A case of assault has come to light in Banke Bihari temple of Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh. Three devotees have been injured in this assault. They have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. There was a dispute between the sevadar and the devotees over offering prasad. The matter escalated so much that it came to a fight and three devotees including two women were injured. A video of the incident has also surfaced, which is becoming increasingly viral on social media.

It can be seen in the video that there was a conversation between the sevadar and the devotees about offering prasad. During this, a situation of dispute arose between the two sides and they started kicking and punching each other. On hearing the screams, some sevadars, Goswamis also came and started beating the devotees. The youths who were fighting did not spare the women and beat them too. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the police reached the spot and started investigating.

After this incident, the police have detained two youths. Devotees say that their turn for darshan came after waiting in line for three hours. We came to see God, not to fight with anyone. We asked some people present there to move aside but they did not move. When we tried to move ahead, they started abusing us. During this, some youths beat us up. Vrindavan police station in-charge Ravi Tyagi said that the CCTV of the temple has been checked and action will be taken against whoever is found guilty.
